Orthopedic Massage
Is an advanced discipline within the field of medical massage.
It’s aim is to restore structural balance to the entire body and ensure pain-free movement, optimal performance and prevention of injuries.
It consists of three main elements :
functional assessment:
to determine the exact underlying condition, including work, sport and posture relation
multi-disciplinary treatment:
to relief pain, promote healing, rebalance muscles throughout the entire body
specific client home care:
to enhance and maintain achieved results
Conditions treated are chronic pain, sport injuries and MSDs (MusculoSkeletal Disorders) including Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTDs) (ligament sprain), Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSIs) (tendinosis) or overuse Syndromes (tendinitis)
Barbara has been trained by author and international lecturer James Waslaski, pioneer of deep pain-free orthopaedic massage, pain management and sports injury treatments.
Like him she uses manipulation and movement of locomotor soft tissues, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, scar tissues mobilisation techniques: cross fibre or multidirectional friction and re-alignement, neuromuscular therapy, PNF stretching, neuromuscular re-education, strengthening and combines it with MLD
